Hurriyat Conference (G) while reiterating the demand for the return of mortal remains of both Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohamad Afzal Guru said although it is purely a human issue but New Delhi is very reluctant to this demand thereby violating all the principles of ethics and human values. Hurriyat (G) also strongly criticized state administration for clamping curfew-like restrictions, curbs, the crackdown against resistance leaders and arresting its leaders. In a statement Hurriyat (G) said while referring to the last letter written by Afzal Guru said it clearly illustrates that he was an ideological person and his emotions were having the backing of faith, intellect and conscience. Hailing Guru for his valour and commitment, Hurriyat said he emerged as an ideal, symbol of dedication and commitment. The amalgam said both Bhat and Guru sacrificed their precious lives for the “better future of the nation”. Warning Delhi for its “oppressive and suppressive” measures, Hurriyat said, “all these arbitrary measures won’t deter us from pursuing our mission”.
